In Athlone we have the oldest Irish pub, "Sean's Bar", the oldest Irish football club "Athlone Town", the oldest inland Yatch Club, the oldest military barracks "Custume Barracks" (home of the "Jadotville Heros" of 1961 in the Congo), we also have the oldest Drama festival held in the "Dean Crowe Theatre" and of course the oldest rugby club too.
